Xmas Slippers...

You will need pipe cleaners (sometimes called chenille stems) in bright colours such as red and green, or white, (if you look at the photo above, you will see that the pair on the left are made from a red & white striped pipe cleaner.....these are good if you can find them), a small piece of felt for the soles, 4 small pom-poms and tacky glue.

Ask a grown-up to cut the pipe cleaners into these lengths: 2 x 2" and 2 x 1 ½ "

1. Draw round a miniature doll's foot on card to get the right shape. Cut it out and use it to make the soles from felt, turning the shape over to make a ‘left' and a ‘right'.

2. Put a line of tacky glue round the edge of each sole.

3. Bend the two longer pipe cleaners to fit round the edge of the soles, making the join at centre back.

4. Bend the two smaller pipe cleaners into a horse-shoe shape and glue these on top of the others with the closed part at the back. The open part will be towards the front of the slipper.

5. Finish off by gluing pompoms on the front to hide the join in the top pipe cleaner.
