DISCLAIMER: THIS PROJECT IS UNDERTAKEN AT YOUR OWN RISK – ANY INJURY INCURRED IS SOLELY THE PARTICIPANT'S RESPONSIBILITY.

General rules: Before you begin this project, please ensure that your hands are clean as it is surprising how much dirt transfers on to the clay. Always begin by ‘working’ the lightest colour of the clays in the kit.  By ‘working’, I mean roll into a ball and flatten and press, repeat this process several times until clay is soft and pliable. (For Liver & kidneys, the beige clay does not need to be ‘worked’)

NEVER BAKE ON ANY DISH/TRAY THAT YOU WILL LATER USE FOR FOOD .

Materials...

  • Greaseproof paper
  • Cocktail stick
  • Clay:    Brown: Burgundy:
  •            Transparent: Beige.
You will also require the following items:

Craft mat or ceramic tile, (To work and bake on) Craft knife, Fimo Gloss Varnish, Old hair net!

Liver...

1.           ‘Work’ the brown, burgundy and transparent clay together.
        2.           Roll into a ball, cut off some slices and then flatten each slice.

Use a hair net, rolled up to press onto the clay to give the meat texture.

Arrange the slices to your liking.

Kidney...

1.                  Work the brown & transparent clay and roll into small balls.

2.                  With your cocktail stick, make a small indentation in each ball (it should look a little like a heart but without the pointed end!)
3.                  Cut a tiny piece of beige clay and insert into the indentation.
4.                  Arrange the kidneys and the liver on your ceramic tile,  your meat is now ready to bake.

5.                  Preheat oven to 130 degrees C or 265 degrees F and bake for 30 minutes.

6.                  When cool, varnish liberally to give that wet, slimy look. When dry, glue onto the greaseproof paper, provided or a board/plate of your choice
