Questions....?
Hi
I am trying to source little people, able to move, made of natural (or nearly natural) materials at 1/24th scale or smaller. Do you have a list of members who might be able to help me??
Best Regards
Maria

Hi
This is such a little question!
How do I 'dust' my fimo sponge cake with 'icing sugar' and make it 'stick'?
Thank you
Katina
ANSWER#1...
Hi - use a thin layer of matt varnish first, then dust to your heart's content! That's if you want quite a thick layer of dusting.
The other way is to use white coloured sugar dusting powder. Because it's got colouring in it (as opposed to talc), the fimo will "take" the colour, if you see what I mean.
The powder I'm referring to is something that cake decorators use so a shop selling icing/cake decorating supplies should stock it. However, you can also use pastel chalk, which is available from artists' shops. It comes in solid sticks, and all you need to do is scrape some off with a craft knife and will come away as a powder.
I only use the cake decorating version because it's already in a powder, and seems to be finer than I can usually achieve with the chalk. And I'm lazy!

I came up with this technique as I have never been able to use white chalk and make it look like it’s been sprinkled. I find it gives me good control of the dusting :)
hope it helps!
