Helen Woods...
I am Helen Woods, IGMA Artisan, and I specialise in miniature knitting and needlework. My business name is ‘Living in a Miniature World’
I gained my IGMA Artisan status in 2007 and I am currently working towards my Fellowship in knitting and needlework.
Although English by birth I have lived in New Zealand for the last 32 years, and have been a part of New Zealand’s small, but very vibrant miniature community for the last 8 years.
I work mainly in 1:12 scale, nearly always by commission, producing original one of a kind knitted items for the collector. I am happy to design and make knitwear for your own dolls, or I can provide you with a fully costumed doll.
I use only fine, soft pure silk or cotton threads in my work and I work to the highest standards of finish in the garments. They feature working buttons and buttonholes, individually hand made to scale and the clothing is designed to be removable and can be cared for in the same manner as you would a full sized garment.
